A box sit is a position used in cardio and dance. All weight is on the supporting leg with a relaxed knee. The other foot is at the side, on the ball, knee turned out.
Tips for Box Sit
- Keep your bottom tucked under and tummy pulled in
- Don’t let the foot that’s on the ball become sickled, push the instep out over the middle toe
- Most importantly, keep your weight on the supporting leg – in other words, your nose should be directly over the heel of your supporting foot, NOT directly over the halfway point between your feet! You should be able to lift the other foot off the floor without overbalancing.
