Between $5 and $10 per lesson, depending on the club.
Annual registration with BJP is $99.00. This entitles you to learn the BJP syllabus, to compete in the optional BJP team and individual competitions and also for your family to have free audience entry to any zone competition.

What do you actually do in class?2023-07-10T10:47:48+10:00

After greeting your friends and being welcomed to class by your teacher, you’ll begin with some easy stretching and warming up. Next, you’ll practice your posture by marching or start learning a new dance routine. For the little ones there are always fun games that everyone loves. Each lesson is designed to make sure that you improve a little every single week and caters to the ability level of the group.

Usually 3 years, as long as your daughter can be happily separated from her mum for half an hour.

What do you wear to class?2023-07-10T10:48:56+10:00

You can wear a leotard or dance pants and a top – comfy but not baggy clothing.

How many times a week do you go to class?2023-07-10T10:49:29+10:00

Depending on how many classes your club offers, you can attend one or two classes a week. Most people attend one class per week to get their Physie fix!

How many students are in a class?2023-07-10T10:49:52+10:00

There are between 5 to 25 students in each class, depending on the club and the age group of the students. Larger classes often have an assistant teacher.

Do you have to compete?2023-07-10T10:50:16+10:00

No, the competitions are completely optional, though they are a great way to build confidence and meet other Physie girls from all over Australia! It’s a wonderful experience designed to encourage girls to become comfortable performing in a safe, positive environment.

What sort of competitions are there?2023-07-10T10:50:42+10:00

There are two types of BJP Physie competitions. The first is team-based with 8 girls or ladies in one team performing routines together and the second is called Champion Girl, where girls pursue their individual goals. There are various competitions throughout the year, with club, interclub, regional, state and finally national competitions. Every year, the National Championships are held at the Sydney Opera House where girls from all over Australia compete for the title of Senior Grand Champion.

What do you wear for competitions?2023-07-10T10:51:16+10:00

Girls are required to wear their BJP Leotards. Ladies and Seniors can wear leotards or leggings and tops. Fishnet tights are optional and no dance shoes are required.

What about tan, hair and makeup?2023-07-10T10:51:41+10:00

Fake tan is banned for girls under 15′s and discouraged above 15 years. There are strict makeup rules for under 15′s but not for adults. Hair is to be kept simple, stylish and feminine.

Can I change clubs during the year?2023-07-10T10:52:17+10:00

You have until 15th March to choose your club. After this date you cannot transfer your registration unless you have a change of address that moves you closer to the club you wish to transfer to.

How can I become a BJP teacher?2023-07-10T10:52:47+10:00

If you are a BJP member 16 years or older, we’d love to help you become a BJP Physie teacher. There is nothing more rewarding than sharing your passion for Physie with others and we are always looking for new teachers to help at existing clubs or even start new clubs of their own.
