Prop on Elbows
- This position is often overlooked and is wrongly used as a time to relax the body or slouch into the floor. It is important the body is lifted!
- It is important to tighten your core in this move.
- Place elbows on floor with fingers pointing forward toward the body – fingers together
- Elbows should be under the shoulders
- Ensure body is lifted out of hips and off the floor – be careful not to arch the back and over puff the chest. Try to create a straight line with body not an arch.
- Forearms and wrists flat on floor
- Ensure feet are together and toes pointed
- Knees locked
- Pull shoulders back
- Lift chin to extend the line of the body. Don’t drop the head back.
It’s getting cold in here!
Whatever your stretching goal, you must be warm before you stretch. Stretching doesn’t make you warm, movement does
