Today’s focus is on BJP Physie teachers and what makes them tick. They give so much of their time, effort, energy and love to their physie clubs and students. They seldom get a weekend off from August to November… so why do they do it? Here’s what some of them said:
“We don’t teach because we’re running a business or making money – we teach because we absolutely LOVE it –physie is our passion and we love the kids. So we want to pass that passion on to them and give them what it gave us.”
“When you hear something back from a parent that the sport you love is enriching people’s lives it makes you feel great! It makes you so glad you’re a physie teacher.”
“I just love watching people’s confidence grow whether they’re young or old. Especially the ladies – they come for exercise and a bit of fun and then, with the camaraderie and the support of their teammates, they decide they want to compete. You watch them face their fear and get out there – it’s exhilarating for them – all of a sudden they can do things they never thought were possible.”
“It’s about the shrinking violet – it’s never about the prizes. They’re nice if they come but, for me, it’s always about helping that shy child to come out of her shell and feeling your heart melt when she does.”
“The hugs, the smiles, the laughs – but more than that, it’s knowing you are giving those girls something that is really going to stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives. Belief in themselves.”
