Positive self-talk is a great way to increase the quality of your performance. Turn a negative into a positive and see the difference that it can make!
We all have moments when something feels tricky, a skill doesn’t quite work, or we don’t perform the way we hoped. That’s when positive self-talk can make a big difference!
- Talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend.
- Replace “I can’t do this” with “I’m still learning this.”
- Instead of focusing on mistakes, think about what you did well.
- Remind yourself: “I can try again.”
- Celebrate small improvements.
- Focus on your own progress rather than comparing yourself to others.
- Before you perform, choose a positive mantra such as “I am strong, confident and ready!”
- Remember, making mistakes is part of learning and growing.
Your thoughts can become your biggest cheerleader. So speak kindly to yourself, believe in your progress.
