Today 600 competitors from 5 states came to Sydney Olympic Park for the 6-14 year National Championships.  Some were on a quest for the national title, others to do a personal best and some, like the 6 year olds, were coming here to compete for the first time.

Congratulations to all competitors and teachers for the standard achieved – it was a day for enjoying watching great physie but even more memorable was the confidence of the girls themselves as they performed in front of a record 1,300 audience members.  “Experiences like this set the girls up for life” said one BJP teacher “they know deep down that if they can do this, they can do anything!”

They’re also learning about good sportsmanship and it was clear to see they were all embracing this wholeheartedly backstage where friendships were forged and the physie spirit was shared by all.  Here’s some pix (and some more to come tomorrow along with some video clips).
