On Sunday the BJP teachers at the 2012 Seminar were lucky enough to take a contemporary dance workshop with Sarah Boulter (Choreographer from So You Think You Can Dance). Sarah focussed on free-flowing and expressive movement, with the fullest extension – the combination of core strength and softness in movement – made possible by attention to balance and foot placement. The non-stop 90 minute class had the teachers embracing a whole new way of dancing, pushing their own boundaries and leading them to experiment with new ways of movement. It was exciting, inspriring and motivating! Our teachers are all taking home a little piece of Sarah with them, whether it’s technique, how to teach a great class, or Sarah’s message for all dancers: To perform, you must dance for yourself! If you love it, those watching you dance will love it too. Check out the photos…
