My life as a Physie lady in 5 words is… family, friendship, dedication, passion, memorable.

The best piece of advice I ever received was ‘Think happy thoughts.’ It’s amazing how much power your mind has. My best performances are always when I have positive thoughts and just enjoy doing what I love.

I have two favourite quotes “Practice like you’ve never won, perform like you’ve never lost.” “Dance from the heart and the feet will follow.”

I’ll never give up Physie because it’s my happy place. I love everything about it—the friendships, the feeling I have when doing it, the rush of a comp, the challenge, the community, the fact I can share it with 3 generations of my family…I could literally write a book about all the reasons why I love Physie!

When I’m not doing Physie I’m a busy mum to my 4 beautiful kids: Jonah, Isaac, Lucy, and Levi. I work as a primary school PE teacher and most of my spare time is spent driving my kids around to basketball and dancing.

I’ll always be grateful for all that Physie has given me. It’s been a constant in my life and has blessed me with amazing friendships, experiences and memories. I couldn’t imagine my life without it.

I love the syllabus this year. The two routines I enjoy performing the most are the Cardio because it’s so fun and dancy and the Advanced because the music gets me every time.

Preparing to perform on the 2024 video was so much fun. I loved the whole process with my teacher Kim and felt so grateful to be given the opportunity again. My favourite thing was being able to take my daughter Lucy as my support person. She took her role very seriously and was ready to wipe my sweat or fix my straps! It was so special to share it with her. It will be a day we will both remember forever.

My Physie teacher always says ‘You’re a worry!’ She also reminds me of my best advice quite often!

I am inspired by my love of all things Physie – the music, the choreography, the challenge, the feeling when you know you’ve done your best. I think it’s easy to be inspired when you find so much enjoyment from something. As they say, “do what you love and love what you do.”
