At the new Riverwest club the teachers love how Physie has a way of reaching into our lives that extends well beyond a weekly hall or an annual stage. It offers a positive and constant connection that ripples through life, a sense of belonging and a positive, safe, space to dance.
With classes at Eastwood and Putney, the new club taps into a new corridor of potential girls and ladies along the Parramatta River. It hopes to attract new members in search of their tribe as well as Physie ladies who may have had a break and want to feel supported to give Physie a try again.
As it turns out, it was actually two Physie dads who came up with the idea to start Riverwest. They saw the benefits of a positive space for their daughters and partners and wanted to generate a place for them to encourage and support others.
The initial plan was to offer classes for Juniors and build from there but excitement for other classes has meant the timetable grew a little ahead of schedule! “It’s wonderful to be able to support young girls, teenage girls and ladies to move and feel good about their bodies” says head teacher Janelle, along with co-teachers Michelle and Abby.
Our #LOVEtoBELONG is more than just a hashtag, it’s our heartfelt commitment that embraces every individual member to be seen and to enjoy Physie for the positive role it plays in their life.
