“Excitement was building at Wynnum Manly Physie. The day was set. Teams had been organised. Costumes were being created. The great race was about to begin!!
It was a beautiful sunny day when over 40 girls from 9 years through to Seniors donned their best team attire and gathered together for Wynnum Manly’s inaugural Great Race/Scavenger Hunt. The course was ablaze with colour from teams Ginga Ninjas, Frozen, Purple Pandas, Bumblebees, Pink Fluffy and the Green Commando’s.
The girls had to decipher clues to take them from one spot to another. There were both physical and mental challenges that they had to undertake as a team. This was a great bonding experience for the girls and a way for them to get to know one another.
Some challenges included wheel-barrowing each other around a course, forming a pyramid, searching for a key in a container of spaghetti (while blindfolded), and trusting team mates to lead you blindfolded through an obstacle course. The winning team was Ginga Ninja’s. They came they conquered. The great race rocked.” Kerrianne
