A few weeks ago Rae Travers celebrated 50 years of teaching BJP Physie. From her early years at Hurlstone Park to now 35 years at Strathpine- she has had an eventful and incredible 50 years! Teachers and students, past and present, came far and wide to celebrate with her and relive many physie memories!
Here is a poem written by a Strathpine Physie lady:
Congratulations Rae on 50 years of Teaching

50 years I bet it seems like yesterday

Hurlstone Park to start your days

Of teaching the beat and the one two three

And then came building a club in the ACT

But it’s cold in Canberra and the army’s the boss

So Townsville club is next but Wow ittoo hot!

After a few years there came a call from Judy Spence

Hi Rae I need a new boss for Brissie – so Rae took the chance!

So into Strathpine you landed with a bang

To gear us up with the BJP dance.

Goodbye for good now New South Wales

Rae is heading up Qld for BJP and all it entails

35 years now loving our pink and black

Strathpine it is – We were not giving you back.

You have taught your club members

To lift, point and stretch

Heads up girls

And just do your best

Making great Teams we know is your love

Formations and timing – very important stuff.

Getting Eight ladies to move as one

You worked and we worked and success has come.

counted my team medals today

And I counted more than 40!

What else can I say but

Thank you Rae that’s mighty!

So congratulations Rae on your 50th year

If some of my facts are wrong I will probably hear!
