The ever-travelling Jayne Cosgrove has been to Darwin, Townsville and Cairns and is now heading south again to be ready for Champion Girl. Here’s her final report before Champion Girl….
“When I was up top, I missed physie so much. When we stopped at my Aunty’s, I had a practise after rearranging the furniture in her house! I want to keep practising with other clubs because getting to the Opera House at the forefront of my dreams I have some serious practise ahead of me.
Back in Brisbane, I was able to attend a class with Strathpine and their amazing teacher, Rae for their last team practise before their comp. The girls were so friendly and happy to meet with me after following the blog. It was like I had instant friends and felt very comfortable. I worked hard along with the girls and am grateful for the experience.
I had an amazing three days of physie at Brisbane North where both the mums and the girls were extremely friendly to my mum and me. I was so out of condition and I sweated like crazy. I began to realise how much work I need to do but I gave it my best shot. The next day I had sore muscles. Renee and the girls shared some valuable techniques with me that I am grateful for.
I went back to Bayside club and put my fitness levels to the test. Cheryl and Kristie were such a great help offering correction advice. The girls are looking great. I can’t wait to see them again at champion girl in Sydney.
I went the Brisbane teams competition and cheered on the girls from all the Queensland clubs that I have visited and was amazed at the talent and such high standards of physie on display.
Finally, I travelled for over an hour to a class with Runcorn Park then headed to another class at Wynnum manly straight after. I learnt many valuable skills from both teachers and enjoyed being with the girls all hyped up from the great results on the weekend at teams.
I am heading to the Gold Coast next, then Coffs Harbour, Woy Woy and home for one last class with my own teacher before champion girl. What an amazing physie year and wonderful opportunity, one that I will always treasure. I have learnt something from every class and teacher and made many new friends to catch up with each year at comps. Thanks to everyone who has hosted me for this opportunity and not having to miss physie for the year whilst travelling Australia.
Good luck to everyone and I’ll see you at the comps!” Jayne.
Thanks Jayne for your fantastic story – it’s been great following your travels to different Physie clubs all over Australia. We think physie is a pretty incredible sport – where else would you be able to ‘drop in’ on a class in another state and have instant friends? It really does show that the BJP Physie community is one big happy family. We hope you’ve made some lifelong friendships along the way…
Postscript: here’s two photos from Coffs Coast…
