You may be aware that two years ago a group of teachers broke away from BJP to form a rival physical culture organisation. At that time we lost 9% of our membership but our teachers and members have worked hard to build BJP back up and we have now regained that 9% and more. Thank you! Our members and teachers are positive and there is a great feeling of camaraderie, support and sportsmanship amongst the BJP Physie family.
In the spirit of transparency we want to let you know that some of the teachers who left have confidentially contacted us about returning to BJP in 2014 and we understand that some of you may feel unsure about this. Rest assured that any decisions made about teachers returning will be made cautiously, with just consideration of all information and with the best interests of the whole organisation at heart.
We want to assure you that we have no intention of undertaking any course of action that would ever put the future of BJP in any kind of jeopardy. Teachers wishing to return to BJP will be interviewed by the Board at the conclusion of our competition season and each individual will be treated on a case-by-case basis. All returning teachers will be on a probation period during which time any breach of the BJP Code of Conduct will result in them being asked to leave.
We must make it clear that there will be no penalties for any members, teachers or clubs returning to BJP as this goes against the spirit and ethics of our sport. Indeed, there have been many Physie members during the last two years that have already returned to BJP, participated in our competitions and been treated fairly. We are proud of this and we expect it to continue.
Whilst the re-integration of people into BJP may at times be difficult, we hope that you will put your trust in us to do the right thing and make the right decisions over the next few months. We hope to facilitate the smoothest possible transition phase for our old members returning, many of whom have a proud history with BJP.
Thank you to all our members and teachers for your fantastic contribution to our recent growth and for your continued loyalty and support.
