The Belmont physie club has been around for 25 years but this year has two new teachers on board, Allana and Leanne. They have been doing physie for over 20 years and are both so excited to be teaching. Allana says, “Belmont physie is a small club with huge potential and we have big plans to grow Belmont physie and help grow the Newcastle zone. Belmont Physie believes in confidence, good posture, strength, grace and friendship.”
Regan (a 1st year senior ) says, “my fav thing about physie is making new friends.” Evelyn, who is just 4 years old and is the club’s youngest member is a fourth generation physie girl. She says, “I love to dance and play with my physie friends.” The favourite activity in the 5-6 year class right now is practising the splits and performing their physie routines for their mums. Fran Shepard, who has been running the club, loves the sense of belonging that physie gives and teaches girls and women to believe in themselves. She says, “I enjoy watching the girls’ confidence grow through physie.”
