Last Sunday Mortdale physie club held a “Mad Hatters Tea Party” to celebrate BjP’s 120 years of physie.
Special “thank yous” were presented to Gwen Mitchell, the club secretary for over 35 years and Kathy Sheeley, the club Treasurer for over 30 years. Physie clubs have traditionally run on the kindness of volunteers like these women, who give decades of service simply because they love physie and love helping the clubs and their girls. We salute club secretaries and treasurers everywhere.
There was also a special “Congratulations” at the party to Nola Hellyer, as this is her 50th year of teaching BjP physie (although only 49 of those years have been at Mortdale!) Everyone had a great time – plenty of food, games, fun and of course The Queen of Hearts ordered the obligatory “Off With Her Head!!”
