The three girls in this photo have recently received significant media coverage and their teacher Alison is proud to say they are “Mermaids” (from Mermaid Beach in Qld). They have travelled to the Senior girl’s competition day at Homebush for the past ten years with the aim of qualifying for the Nationals. Alison says, “They come back to physie year after year – to me they epitomise club pride and sportsmanship and I’m so proud of them. When one of the three got married last year, the other two were her bridesmaids. The girls would not have met if it weren’t for physie.
To say they are chuffed to be receiving this coverage through Lyndal Iron’s photo exhibition is an understatement. This exhibition has given them a thrill they will treasure forever! And they’ll keep trying to reach their goal of making the Opera House no matter what.”
