Physie teacher Wendy Brown from Wallarah Point club has been recognized her local community in a competition called “Captains of Community”. Wendy was nominated for her contribution to the community, her countless hours spent fundraising and mentoring the club’s girls, her inclusive attitude towards girls with disabilities and learning difficulties and just for being the legend that she is! Wendy made the final three, chosen by a panel, then members of the community had two weeks to vote on a winner. Wendy was up against some tough competition, even a popular principal of the local primary school, but Wendy took out first prize and been voted her local Community Captain. Congratulations Wendy! We’re sure you’ll enjoy your prize of a $1000 travel voucher to enjoy some R&R once the comp season is over. And, more importantly, we hope that you feel appreciated for what you do week after week, year in and year out, to empower girls for life.
