Have you ever wondered what a Physie Champion gets up to in the off season? What does a physie girl do when she doesn’t have her weekly class to attend?! Here is a glimpse of what Kamya Jennings, the 2017 Grand Champion Girl, has been doing in her time off over the holiday period.
What do you like to do in the physie break?
During my physie break I try to recover my body by finding fun walking trails, swimming at the beach and playing with my puppy. These tasks are a little less strenuous on the body but I am still able to keep active and out and about in beautiful nature.
What’s your favourite hobby or something that people might not know about you?
My favourite hobby is doing physie but I love to also dabble in painting and drawing when and if I have spare time. I also of course get addicted to reality dramas and chick flick movie marathons.
How do you keep fit, healthy and flexible over the break so that you’re ready for the new year?
Over the holiday break I do try to keep flexible but in an odd way. With about a month to go until physie starts, I normally tend to get bored. So when I am getting ready for work I start to stretch while making lunches; lifting and holding my legs and swing kicking in many directions. Weird I know but it works!
I also take my dog for walks and runs while also trying to limit but obviously not exclude chocolate from my daily eating habits. That would be too tricky.

Whatever your stretching goal, you must be warm before you stretch. Stretching doesn’t make you warm, movement does
