AFTERGLOW is a visual art and performance project that will feature 20 girls from the Figtree Physie Club.
The project explores colour, pattern, light, shapes and movement to make a living ‘painting’ that an audience walks into. The lead artist will work with the choreographer and textile artist to design and create an immersive space for the Physie girls to perform at varying intervals and durations over the course of the show.
The dancers will wear costumes in shapes and colours that echo the palette and forms of the art installation, transforming them into moving elements of the installation ‘painting’.
Afterglow can be seen on Saturday and Sunday 23-24 September between 9am-5pm at the Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre, 782 Kingsway, Gymea, NSW.
