Sunday was a wonderful day of physie but also just a wonderful day of friendship and good sportsmanship.
The Ladies Liverpool day of teams and Champion Lady for those over 40 is a great opportunity for old friends to have an annual catch up and support each other in their love for physie. Some in the audience have been physie friends for seven decades!
One such special friendship is that of Jackie Simpson and Una Macleay. Una was the Senior Grand Champion in 1945 and 1948 and will soon celebrate her 90th birthday. They never miss this great day of watching and talking about everything physie (it’s like fb BJP chat without the computers!)
Congratulations to all the teams – it was great to see 28 lovely teams take the floor and perform at such a high standard. And congratulations also to the national champions, Catherine McKinney and Jo Walsh who will now go on to contest Ladies Grand Champion at Homebush on 31st October.
