The answer is YES!  Whilst it could be said that Nola knows everything that’s going on in physie-land, she didn’t have a clue about the surprise party to celebrate her 50 years of teaching for BJP Physie.

Her family had it planned so well – Nola thought she was going to a 30th surprise birthday and, when she arrived, she couldn’t understand why there were physie people there!  He son said “Mum this is for you” and the look of surprise was priceless. And then the tears started to fall down the cheeks… it was emotional but a wonderful day.

There were around 120 people there – many students past and present and of course her life-long physie friends. It was “chat-chat-chat” all day. Her daughter Nicole spoke on behalf of the family and June Renaud spoke as a friend of 50 years’ standing. She said “It has been a privilege to know such a devoted, loyal and caring person.  Let’s hope the young teachers of today can make it to their 50 years!”
