In 2017 for our 125th Anniversary and we began a project to collate the history of BJP – the result was a book “Fit for Life – the History of Physical Culture in Australia”. Since then, more and more archival material is surfacing – programs, medals, photos, certificates and more – even a Grand trophy from 1966!
But we’d love to keep building our archives because, in 1928, there was a fire in the offices of BJP which destroyed all of the archives and then another one in 1994 – what are the chances? So, although we have a good collection of historical photos, there is a huge amount that was lost and we know it’s out there somewhere…
It’s time to go through the treasure chest in the attic, the bottom of the wardrobe and those boxes in the garage. We want your physie history. If you have any of the following, we want it:
– physie photos prior to 1960
– prizes prior 1950 (e.g. medals, badges, trophies & certificates)
– tickets & programs (prior to 1974)
– old associate uniforms and competition tunics
– teaching badges, certificates
– booklets, teaching aids etc.
– leaflets or advertising prior 1960
– syllabus booklets prior 1964
– something else you think we might be interested in?

For items other than photos, you can either:
– photograph your item and post a photo for us to keep or email a digital photo to us OR…
– post us the item and we will photograph it and return them to you.
