My life as a Physie girl in 5 words is: Fun! Yellow! White! Bananas! Love!

My favourite quote is…  On the 2019 BJP Video when Jackie asked me why I loved Physie I said, “I love when Miss Steph tells me what to do.” Five years later this still holds true, not just for me but others in our club too… We just LOVE when Miss Steph tells us what to do!

When I’m not doing Physie…  I like to go to the beach or camping with my family. My big sister Isla, Dad and I go swimming and surfing whenever we can. It is lucky we live in Queensland as we get in the water every season.

I’ll always be grateful for…. my mum! I love her so much she makes my yellow heart burst! My mum is always the first person to lend a hand to others during classes and comp days and even non-physie days. Mum drives me to every lesson and I am grateful to her for always encouraging me to be the best version of myself. She is patient. She is kind. She is my hero!

My favourite routine this year is…. the Relaxed. I still love it the most! I enjoy feeling powerful in exercises too.

Preparing to perform on the 2024 video was…. awesome! I really enjoyed learning the work. I liked the songs chosen and the choreography. Because this was my third time filming, I knew how fast I had to learn the routines, so I learned the work in February then tweaked things at home, in class with my friends and at some extra lessons with Miss Steph.

On the day of the shoot…. I really had the best day. I enjoyed having my makeup done and sharing the excitement of the other performers. I loved seeing the proud faces of the younger girls when they came off after filming – they were so happy and filled with adrenaline. I know how hard they had worked to be given the same opportunity as me. Their mums had the same look of relief my mum gets! Skyla showed me some pictures of her doing Physie with me on her TV at home when I was younger and Ari used to dance around with her big sister doing Physie with me in her lounge room too. I feel so honoured and grateful to be their “first Video Girl” and to have played a part in their love of Physie. I know they will be the ones inspiring little girls around Australia to dream big.

I am inspired by…. my teachers Miss Steph and Miss Jade. I love watching them perform in class and on competition days. They inspire me to continue to work hard in class as well as  when I am interacting with other Physie girls. They show me that it’s the little things that make a difference in the lives of others on and off the floor.

Stretch your limits!
