The members of BJP Physie’s Tamworth club went pink to raise money for research and support for women’s cancers, as part of the Cancer Council NSW’s pink ribbon program.
At physie classes members dressed in pink and donated to Cancer Council NSW. Tamworth Physie’s promotions coordinator, Tara Bartlett, said that the club’s motto of “A healthy mind in a healthy body” reflects the Cancer Council’s messages of keeping healthy to reduce the risk of cancer.
“As our club is 100% female, we thought raising money for Pink Ribbon would be a great way to continue supporting our members and the community. Also the girls get to have fun dressing up in pink!” Tara said.
Sue-Ellen Hogan, Community Engagement Manager for Cancer Council NSW, said that community fundraising helps Cancer Council provide vital support focused on women’s cancers. “It’s great to see groups like BJP Physie coming together to help us support women diagnosed, as well as research into the treatment and detection of these cancers. We truly appreciate BJP and the members for doing their bit to help us defeat cancer.”
