Continued from yesterday…
So being in a physie team teaches us to think not just about ourselves but about everyone in the team. A team needs everyone to pitch in and do their bit but, more than that, it requires everyone to be THINKING along the same lines.
“A successful team is a group of many hands but of one mind.” Bill Bethel
And that means co-operation. Learning to work with others and problem-solve together is such an important part of life – at school, work and home.
To be a true team player is to have skills that will help you in your career and your relationships.
Developing an ability to co-operate and collaborate with others is essential to success.
Why do employers want team players? Because they are good communicators – they can understand others and make themselves understood – they can resolve conflict and work through problems with their team to get things done. Most importantly, they can get on with people – they can compromise, give others the benefit of the doubt, be gracious and let the small stuff go. These are great life skills and they are all gained from working together as an integral part of a physie team.
“Cooperation is the thorough conviction that nobody can get there unless everybody gets there.” Virginia Burden
