The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 Opening Ceremony will have a global TV audience of 1 billion people!  And you can be in it!!

The Ceremonies team wants BJP Physie girls and women over 16 and especially women aged 40 years or older for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Plus they are now inviting your partners, brothers, sons and fathers to audition! The team is looking for men of all ages from 16 years up with personality, positivity, energy and a great sense of humour to be volunteer performers. So it’s time to get the men in your life to get involved too in one of the biggest events the Gold Coast has ever seen.

Join the Ceremonies journey together and experience the thrill of performing live on stage in front of hundreds of thousands! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  All physie women and men should use the code PHYSIE2018 when applying.

If your application is received by 1 October, you will be assigned to an audition with other BJP members, which guarantees a fun experience you will never forget! Applications close 1 November.  Each applicant applies separately but, by using the code PHYSIE2018, you can audition together.

Auditions are in October and early November – but if you can’t make a specific date, you can reschedule to another date. At the audition, you can expect to have a good laugh, learn more about being a Volunteer Performer, meet your Cast Coordinators and work with their fun and friendly Creative Team on a simple movement sequence. No artistic or dance experience is necessary, you don’t have to dance at the audition and there are many different types of roles to fill. 

Rehearsals start in February, twice a week on one week night and one weekend day.  Only during the final week leading up to the event there will be more rehearsals.  If you audition and are accepted then find you can’t make rehearsals, you can pull out. But if you don’t audition, you can’t be in it.  Don’t miss out!

In the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony around 100 physie men performed alongside their physie wives, daughters and mothers in the Nature segment and had a ball.  Here’s another opportunity for physie to give back something to all the physie men – it’s your time to shine guys!
