It’s always an incredibly exciting moment when a physie club wins their first BJP National Team Cup. And what’s more it’s newsworthy! Sefton Physie club recently had this great article published in their local paper. (reprinted below).
It’s a busy time of year for the girls at Sefton Physie. The group is preparing for some of their biggest shows of the year. With the Royal Easter Show around the corner, the girls will again present an exhibition of their skills in April,
As a mother and teacher I watch with wonder at the innocent trust in every small person I observe. There is so much potential in every new child that I see. Current research indicates that there are a number of ways to help our girls become the confident women of the future. These include:

Today marked the sad loss of Dorothy Phillemore, one of BJP’s most loved physie stalwarts. “Dot”, as everyone knew her, will be forever treasured by the physie community, especially those from the Liverpool zone. Dot never missed a physie comp, no matter what, and was tireless in her decades of dedication to physie whether it was looking after teachers, judges or children. She always had a smile for everyone – and usually a cup of tea and piece of cake to go with it. We salute you Dot and spare a silent thought for you today - you will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Each week, across the country, from Alstonville to Adelaide, from Condobolin to Canberra, from Mudgee to Melbourne, women are pulling on their dance pants to get to their physie class. For these women, getting to class means getting together with like-minded women who want to stay fit and well for the rest of their lives. The weekly physie class isn’t just about exercise and dance, it’s about connecting each week with friends and being part of a network of women that stretches across the country. It’s also time away from careers and motherhood to do something just for yourself. Social wellbeing is just as important as physical wellbeing and physie provides just that – fitness and friendship – team spirit in a fun environment, just for women.

BJP has renegotiated its leotard contract for 2012 and there are some important changes for BJP members. The most important ones are:
- leotards can now be bought either unlined or fully-lined with white cotton
- great new styles including a 2 piece for both seniors and juniors, which will look similar to this picture (but without the scrunchies!)
- no additional charge for ordering in the second ordering period
- better customer service and quality control
