Physie in the Sun Herald

Last Sunday the Sun Herald ran an article about the BJP Junior National Finals.  It’s great to see the press getting more interested in our sport and to be written about in a leading national newspaper.

It seems that whenever we get press coverage, the journalists like to focus on the hair curlers and the grooming rather than the physie!  Perhaps this is because there is such a high level of public interest in the pressure on girls

Pinnacle of Perfection

Last night Brooke Davey from the Mount Ousley club demonstrated “physie perfection” and became the 2011 Grand Champion Girl, the pinnacle of success at the BJP Senior National Finals.

Around 200 girls competed in front of a full house in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House -  even the standing room was sold out!  The audience seemed to appreciate the fantastic performances of the girls and the incredibly high standard of competition in the Grand Final.

Each year there are ten girls eligible to become the Grand Champion: the winners of the five Open Senior sections and the five Challengers who won those sections the preceeding year.  This year Brooke was an outstanding winner and was presented with the BJP Perpetual Trophy by Mrs Judy Spence,

Opera House tomorrow night!

BJP’s premier event of the year is on tomorrow night in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.  Just a reminder to all attending that the start time is 7.00pm sharp and, if you are late, there is a lock-out until after the first section.  We look forward to seeing you at this exciting event!
