2011 Teachers’ Conference

Physie Conference 2011This July 112 physie teachers attended a weekend conference at the Stamford Grand Hotel in North Ryde. The purpose of the conference was to assist teachers with planning for the future of their clubs. Topics covered were branding, communication, mentoring young teachers, succession planning, member retention, club values, physical and mental health.

There were also classes in senior citizens, syllabus and hip hop. The teachers did a lot of group work, the results of which were uploaded to the conference wikispace for continued collaborative learning among delegates.

Australian Dance Festival

A team of 20 National Finalists performed at the Australian Dance Festival at Homebush Bay in the Under Sixteens’ shows. Although they came from 16 different clubs in and near Sydney and had only four rehearsals together, they worked extremely hard and did an amazing job.

The purpose of participating in the Australian Dance Festival was to show the dance industry just how fantastic physie girls are how well we can dance in unison. And they certainly did that. Click through to the full post to see footage of the girls performing…
